Carl Denham

Co-Founder & Director

"If all you do is dream about what you want to achieve, it will always remain a dream."

A former national champion and multiple national medallist, Carl brings over 20 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for gymnastics to Flix Gymnastics Bedford. As a Level 4 Acrobatic Gymnastics Coach and Regional Coach for the East, he has guided numerous gymnasts to national success, including medal-winning and champion performances. Carl’s philosophy is to develop champions - in skill, mindset, and attitude. He creates an environment where ambition is encouraged, precision is valued, and perseverance is celebrated. He believes in fostering a culture of ambition and respect, where every gymnast is challenged to believe in their potential, work with purpose, and pursue excellence both individually and as part of a team.

Outside the gym, Carl has embraced his role as a dad to his daughter, Freya. Fatherhood has given him a renewed sense of balance and perspective, deepening his appreciation for the joy, growth, and confidence that gymnastics can bring to young people. It’s reminded him that true success, in sport and in life, comes from a combination of dedication, happiness, and wellbeing. This balance continues to inspire his passion for helping every child reach their potential as confident, resilient individuals.

Luke Denham

Co-Founder & Director

“Gymnastics is a wonderful sport, I am excited to be involved in the journeys of others, helping them to achieve their very best, no matter their ability.”

With over fourteen years in gymnastics, culminating in a spot at the National Finals in 2014, Luke understands the drive and demands of the sport firsthand. This passion, coupled with ten years dedicated to Sports Therapy, where he has worked with everyone from recreational fitness enthusiasts to National and Commonwealth-level athletes, gives him a unique, injury-prevention focus. Returning to the sport, he combines his background as an athlete with expert knowledge in injury prevention and body mechanics. He has coached both recreational and competitive gymnasts, applying his experience to ensure safe, progressive development and long-term success.

Outside the gym, Luke enjoys an active lifestyle with his fiancée, Kelly, and they are excitedly preparing for their wedding in 2026. He can often be found working out, walking the dog, or helping with the horses. This blend of personal and professional experience shapes his commitment to creating a positive, encouraging environment for every gymnast who walks through the door.

Jess Horne

Welfare Officer

"Gymnastics is the kind of sport that shapes self-belief. It has you doing things you never thought you were capable of, and then taking that one step further. You really can do anything you set your mind to."

Jess’ journey in gymnastics began when she joined her primary school club, eventually progressing to national competition and representing her trio at the British Gymnastics Championship Series. After retiring from competition, she achieved her Level 2 Coaching Qualification in Acrobatic Gymnastics. She went on to lead recreational sessions and support competitive squads, including developing young gymnasts through both recreational and competitive programmes.

Alongside her time in the sport, Jess built a career in physical education, completing a Master of Physical Education with Qualified Teacher Status and teaching secondary students for several years. Her experience working closely with young people, families, and professionals underpins her commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. As the club’s Welfare Officer, she is dedicated to being a trusted, approachable point of contact, ensuring the wellbeing of gymnasts, parents, and coaches. Outside her professional roles, Jess enjoys spending time with friends and family, relaxing with her kitten, practicing Pilates, and exploring new coffee spots.

Natasha Denham

Social Media Manager

“Gymnastics welcomes every kind of beginner and every kind of dream. Whether you’re learning a first cartwheel or chasing your dreams at competitions, this sport teaches you to be brave, patient, and endlessly curious, and that’s why it stands above the rest.”

Natasha brings a lifelong connection to gymnastics, beginning her journey at just 3 years old and competing through to 18. A former national-level athlete, she achieved county and regional titles and gained experience as both a women’s pair and trio gymnast. Her coaching background spans preschool through to elite levels, where she has led her own sessions, supported wider coaching teams, and gained Level 2 Sports Acrobatic Coach and Club Judge qualifications. She has also worked with and led dedicated recreational and competitive squads. After broadening her skill set as an Outdoor Activity and Water Sports Instructor, she has returned to the sport with a renewed passion and a commitment to helping young gymnasts grow, progress, and find joy in their training.

Outside the gym, Natasha balances a busy career with time spent doing the things she loves most: being with family and friends, exploring outdoors with her dog Tilly, and baking at home with her fiancé, Stefano. This blend of life experience shapes her belief that young people thrive when they feel supported, challenged, and inspired, something she brings to every session she coaches.
